Light Bulb Themes for Your Bullet Journal
#1. Light Up Cover Page
The very talented @studyquill created a monthly cover page featuring a large lightbulb hanging from a cord. Inside the lightbulb is an at-a-glance calendar for the month. It’s created in black and gray, then accented with a bright yellow marker.
#2. Mood Tracker Lights
Trackers don’t need to be difficult to create.
Here’s an easy-to-make monthly mood tracker from @playwithink that shows just how easy they can be to create yet rewarding to use every day.
This mood tracker features a dangling lightbulb for each day of the month. The bulbs get colored in based on the overall mood of the day. Moods include happy, excited, productive, relaxed, stressed, frustrated, ugh!, and ill.
#3. Light Bulb Weekly Spread
This lightbulb themed weekly spread from @kirbycat.bujo is bright, airy, and minimalist. Above each day of the week is a lightbulb filled in using pink and purple watercolor markers. Written inside each bulb is a large scripted letter for the day of the week and the date below it.
At the top of the page is the March header, a month-at-a-glance calendar, and the quote, “be the reason someone smiles today.”
#4. Lightbulbs and Fireflies
This November cover page features lightbulbs and fireflies. Created by @made_withmuchlove, lightbulbs dangle from the top of the page and are accented with stars. The bottom of the page has a jar of fireflies and even a few have escaped from the jar. Yellow accents make this page come to life.
#5. Outdoor Lights Mood Tracker
Incorporate the lightbulb theme into the mood tracker pages of your bullet journal. The spread from @_bujobyclaire features strands of lights. There’s a bulb for each day of the month while shades of yellow, gray, and black denote the mood of the day.
On the left page of this spread is an inspiring quote written inside a large lightbulb. “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
#6. Bright Weekly Spread
I love the vibrant color of this lightbulb weekly spread by @julie_journals. Each daily header is created by drawing a black box then writing the day and date over it in white pen. A lightbulb is drawn next to it in black ink and then accented with a bright yellow marker.
It’s a clean minimalist spread that works for any week of the year.
#7. Bright Ideas Brain Dump
Brain dumps are the perfect activity to do when you feel overwhelmed. I love this brain dump bujo page created by @explorejournaling.
Lightbulbs dangle from the top of the page. In the middle is a large broken bulb with the header, “bujo ideas dump.” Below that, you’ll find lots of bullet points to record the information.

#8. Weekly Planner Bulbs
Pastel lightbulbs create a relaxed vibe for this bullet journal weekly spread from @theartofbujo. Various size/shape lightbulbs are drawn for each day of the week and filled in using pastel markers. The appointments and to-dos for each day are written inside the bulbs in a variety of fun fonts with cute doodles.
The day and date are written on the outside of each bulb while an at-a-glance monthly calendar can be found at the bottom of the page.
#9. Get in the Mood
Here’s another mood tracker using lightbulbs. This one features lots of vibrant colors such as yellow, green, pink, red, purple, gray, and blue. Thirty-one lights hang from the top of the page while a stripe of coordinating washi tape at the bottom of the page pulls the look together.
#10. Light Me Up All Month
The final photo in this lightbulb theme bullet journal roundup is from @alliesbulletjournaladventure. It’s a monthly spread featuring a variety of unique lightbulbs hanging from the top of the page. A light yellow highlighter adds a bit of color to the top of each daily block.
